Charging and capacity testing of batteries

Device for charging, discharging and capacity testing of batteries

The device performs computer-controlled charging, discharging and capacity testing of batteries.
The modular structure of the system allows it to be adapted to your requirements.

  • Main electrical switchgear
  • Main electrical switchgear
  • Charging room
  • Sub-distribution board in the charging room
  • Control program

The device performs 4 main processes:

  • charging the batteries (with constant current or constant voltage, depending on the selected charging mode),
  • discharging the batteries with constant current,
  • capacity test (combination of discharge and charge), after which it prints a capacity test report,
  • putting the batteries into operation (combination of discharge and charge).

Charging

The device is divided into separate charging circuits, in which the cells are connected in series.
The maximum values of electrical quantities for 1 charging circuit are:
  • Maximum voltage: 80V
  • Maximum charging current: 100A
  • Maximum charging power: 3kW

Discharging

The device has one discharge circuit in which the cells are connected in series.
The maximum values of electrical quantities for the discharge circuit are:
  • Maximum voltage: 120V
  • Maximum discharge current: 90A
  • Maximum discharge power: 7.3kW

Device functionality

  • The device can work with different types of cells, and the settings can be saved in files.
  • Only persons with an assigned password have access to the device and its settings.
  • Continuous monitoring of the voltage of individual cells.
  • Monitoring of the total voltage, current, and power in the charging and discharging circuit.
  • Monitoring of the temperature in the main switchboard and in the charging room.
  • Monitoring of the active ventilation in the charging room.
  • Calibration of the measuring circuit of individual cells.
  • Detection and automatic bridging of a missing cell in the circuit.
  • Process status notification via SMS messages (process completed, process interrupted, etc.).
  • Printing of capacity test protocols.
  • Saving capacity test protocols to the database.
  • Individual cells can be disconnected and connected during the process.
  • Interruption and restart of the process.
  • After a power failure, the process can be resumed from the point at which it was interrupted.
